Small Sat Conference 2026 is in the books! With 5,500 people in attendance, the Peregrine co-founders' three-and-a-half days in Salt Lake City was a non-stop journey of meetings, reunions, and technical conversations!
With in-person meetings on the show floor and virtual meetings in quiet corners, the conference schedule was absolutely packed! Co-founders Tyler and Ian met with customers and vendors, new and old, to discuss capability, the future of the data ecosystem, and in-space operations. Peregrine wants to give an extra shout out to the folks of PADT, Inc, Greenberg Traurig, LLP, and Wells Fargo for flying out to stand in our corner. Small Sat Conference definitely lived up to its work-hard-play-hard reputation, with multiple mixers hosted every day of the conference.
Peregrine Space Corp presented its first poster on the conference floor this year! Tyler and Ian presented on Wednesday morning and afternoon, hosting attendees and fielding questions from all across the industry. The poster discussed the relative merits of passive sensing systems (cameras) and active systems (laser rangefinding and lidar) for Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO). The short version is that the best system should use both technologies, but for the data to support that claim, check out the poster here at the DigitalCommons link!
Some of the Peregrine team drove down to Santa Ana this past week to move our two new 48U server racks back to base. These racks are slated to hold the backbone of Peregrine's high-powered hardware for high-speed networking and high-fidelity simulation. It sure is nice having trucks in the fleet of personal vehicles! One half of the haul is shown above.
Co-founders Tyler and Ian went down to San Diego in mid-August to attend the San Diego Defense Tech Event, hosted by Cooley, LLP, Wells Fargo, and JLL. The night was a great combination of industry chatter and new connections. Founders and funders got together to check-in on what the industry needs, is lacking, and how to tackle new challenges.
"Coming off of our great success at this year's Small Sat Conference, the team is both reinvigorated and laser-focused on the future!"
